Hello friend and fellow artist,

Did you ever say to yourself “I wish I could paint?”

All my life, that was my secret wish. So when I got to the ripe old age of… well lets say grandma age, I decided to give it a try. So, I took some lessons and a class, but I said to the teacher up front, “that I couldn’t draw.” she said, “Don’t worry about it.” She showed me some tricks on producing a painting with absolutely no drawing involved. I was delighted and thrilled. I painted for 2 1/2 years, and actually sold 4 or 5 pieces. Then I went blind. I called my art teacher in tears and said, “my painting life was over”. So after several months of deep depression and doing nothing, I called her back please come help find something I CAN do. So, we experimented with string, yarn, sticking sewing needles in the canvas to find the shape, etc, and it was all very frustrating. But finally, Cheryl my partner, had the great idea of putting a raised image on the canvas, so I could feel the shape of the design. Then I could feel exactly where to paint. Now these are the canvas boards that you could purchase through the website. Of course, I do mostly finger painting now. And it is so much fun, to put the paint on the raised image in one color, and then use a different color for the background. This is tremendous fun and certainly helped lift my spirts and helped pull me out of the dark pit I was in. So if you are visually impaired -or if you just enjoy painting-, but want to paint, try one of our kits that includes the texture board and the paints you need to create your picture. I hope you will enjoy this experience as much as I have, and I hope It will help you get back on the path of letting lose of your imagination and your creativity. HAPPY PAINTING!!

Nancy
